My husband can’t breathe. Your car broke down again? Her family has the flu, for the second time, or third time. Their heaters went out last month, this month. His bank account drained faster than the kitchen sink! Adult children raised in Christ are running away from God. And I’m so restless at my job – up days and down days. Why do I fight this calling? It seems like one problem after another. People I love are struggling and can’t seem to catch a break. What is going on, God? This stinks!!
Indeed, I smell a rat. In John 10:10 (New American Standard), Jesus told His disciples, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;” Could this be Satan, maybe? It’s been a while since life felt like a spiritual battle. Time to brush up on one of my favorite messages about spiritual warfare. It’s by Mike Bickel, who founded IHOP in Kansas – not the pancake restaurant, but the 24/7 International House of Prayer. Pastor Mike loves Jesus and He loves God’s Word. This message opens your eyes.
Listen to The Authority of the Believer, Exercising our Dominion in Christ. It’s time we stop letting the enemy trample us!
Faith is our SHIELD to extinguish the fiery darts of the enemy; and God’s Holy Word is the SWORD of the Spirit to rebuke the devil’s lies. “Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.” (Ephesians 6:10) Jesus said, “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10b) “…thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:57-58).
